I’ll be back soon to catch you up. obviously there are some changes… :)
Sea Bands help! Sea Bands help!! It’s a miracle!!! My nausea is a lot better!!
There’s a new genus of ferns out there, and they’re named for Lady Gaga. No … Seriously.

My doctor made it sound common and a few of you have messaged...
I have officially completed all of my 2012 goals, and it isn’t even August. I ran my second marathon, I broke 24 minutes in a 5k (22:30!), and began...
Not sure what it was all about, but yesterdays group strength training workout was tough! I was having a hard time with it, getting a little more winded than usual and had to take more breaks than usual….even though it was almost the same workout I did last week without these issues!
I burned 580 calories doing the 50 min strength training routine and walking to the gym and back from my house (5 min each way).
Im 17 weeks now and most of my workout clothes are tight in the midsection area but I dont completely look pregnant yet. I am still in that in between stage! Im sure that by time I am obviously pregnant and bigger then I will be wishing I was smaller!
As of Saturday I am 15 weeks along. I am feeling pretty normal with a minor dose of symptoms now and then. At least I have my energy back! My next appointment is Thursday next week to hopefully find out the gender!
I did 2 workouts this weekend. Saturday I went to the gym and did 30 mins of cardio (10 mins elliptical, 10 mins treadmill, 10 mins stairmill) and some stretching, walked back home and burned 431 calories! I cant believe how high my calorie burn is. I would normally burn that much only if I did kickboxing for an hour (before pregnancy).
Second workout was on Sunday. I went to the group strength training class which is an hour long. And this was my first session of lifting weights since August. Holy cow am I super sore today! Every where. BUt it feels good to be back in action!
I have been MIA for a while…havent been able to work out for a few medical reasons (knee injury and early pregnancy complication). But things are going well now. Knee is better and I am out of the morning sickness phase for the most part and the pregnancy is progressing really well. I am 12 weeks along! I have even gained weight already mostly due to carbs and not working out though.
My fitblr blog is out of alignment with my life right now and I may be changing my general theme of posts. Obviously they may have more to do with pregnancy than working out, getting fit, losing weight and eating right. Basically I have to eat what I need for baby. Im still trying to eat well, but those dang carbs have been back in my life as they are the only things that sound appealing on certain days.
You can unfollow if you dont wanna hear about pregnancy related things but I still am trying to be healthy of course! I am going to start doing some (prenatal) yoga, walking, and trying to back to the gym to lift weights with modifications as necessary.
Two things have been going on in my life lately.
I’m vacationing in the lake Tahoe area and keeping on track with my duathalon training!
Yesterday was a 60 min bike ride and today is a 15 min run/30 min bike ride/15 min run. Couldn’t ask for better scenery! And going on a 5mile hike this afternoon. Love summer!!!
First, I am down a little more weight to 155.4! THis is my lowest since last summer! Its been coming off in 0.4-0.2 lb increments almost every day this week. I have been staying within my alloted calories for the day (except Monday) but not eating as super clean as I would like. Im also on schedule with my duathalon training this week! I am a little concerned about my 15 min bike ride and transition to 60 min run scheduled for Sunday. I can do it though!
I tried my new hemp protein shake this morning. Just felt like having a fruit smoothie with eggs for breakfast. It was good! I mixed hemp protein powder with water because I am cutting out milk, a banana and other mixed fruit, and chia seeds. Delicious.
Getting my hair done this afternoon, a wedding reception tomorrow and Monday I leave for vacation at Lake Tahoe….for a whole week! Joy! CANNOT WAIT!!
Started on Week 4 of my duathalon training this week! Im motivated and excited because I just created my custom workout schedule combining duathalon training plan and a 10K training plan. It was getting too confusing trying to combine these two in my head and I was losing track of where I was.
Last night was a 45 min run, which I ran 3.95 miles. So close! I shouldnt have stopped yet to make it an even 4 miles. Oh well. I did some sprints in that too just for fun since my friend was running with me. He is so fast on his sprinting that I felt it was quite cartoonish how fast he was compared to how slow I felt! Came home from the run and did ~ 74 pushups and some ab work.
THis morning I rode 21 miles in ~ 90 mins. A nice solid ride on the flats which seemed so EASY compared to the hills I was climbing over the weekend in the mountains. Workout for hte day is done so I can focus on preparing some good food tonight!
That’s me on my bike from one of my rides this weekend in the Sierra Nevada. I did a very small segment of the “death ride”. 23 miles with 1700 ft climbing up hill. No walking the bike this time!
Sunday I did 11 miles with 1000 ft climbing.
This is the mission gazpacho soup that I posted about yesterday. Finally was able to take a photo of the last of it!

See yesterday’s post for my notes about this delicious soup!
Don’t stop because you are tired. Stop because you are done. It really helped me through today’s run!
Now off to the sierras again for a weekend bike camping trip and some hiking!!
