I have officially completed all of my 2012 goals, and it isn’t even August. I ran my second marathon, I broke 24 minutes in a 5k (22:30!), and began...
First, I am down a little more weight to 155.4! THis is my lowest since last summer! Its been coming off in 0.4-0.2 lb increments almost every day this week. I have been staying within my alloted calories for the day (except Monday) but not eating as super clean as I would like. Im also on schedule with my duathalon training this week! I am a little concerned about my 15 min bike ride and transition to 60 min run scheduled for Sunday. I can do it though!
I tried my new hemp protein shake this morning. Just felt like having a fruit smoothie with eggs for breakfast. It was good! I mixed hemp protein powder with water because I am cutting out milk, a banana and other mixed fruit, and chia seeds. Delicious.
Getting my hair done this afternoon, a wedding reception tomorrow and Monday I leave for vacation at Lake Tahoe….for a whole week! Joy! CANNOT WAIT!!
Already had a 2lb loss register on the scale yesterday!! For a total of 2.4 lbs lost this week. Good motivation and momentum going into my camping trip this weekend. Bringing my running gear!
Woot! So excited! I am down to 156.6 lbs. Need to update my “About me”.
*does happy dance*
Weighed myself today since it is my normal THursday weigh in….at least thats what I have been doing hte past few weeks. I am down 0.4lbs this week!!! I will take it, no matter how small the progress! So now I am 159 even. And that is with taking 2 rest days in a row and eating not so clean for 2 days.
My goal for the next few days/week is to eat clean except for some treats on Saturday (dessert) at my friend’s baby shower. And hopefully resume upper body work!
Here is the actual Mean Abs June workout schedule :)
Since this was reblogged, I figure I would give my update:
I started a day late and was following it everyday until last Thursday. However, just doing the recommended amount listed/day was not enough for me. So I do 3 sets of each exercise as a circuit. I had a muscle spasm in my shoulder/neck on Saturday and just got back into this last night about a week behind.
Note: I am not doing the pushups everyday. I do not believe in working those muscles everyday. My trainer told me that abs and calves are hte only muscle group that you can work everyday. So every other day I do hte pushups.
I substitute the pushups with the decreasing pyramid of pushups and jumping jacks combo that someone else posted on here (10 JJs, 10 pushups, 9 JJs, 9 pushups….down to 1 JJ, 1 pushup) and increase the number by 2 each workout. So next time I would start at 12 pushups and jumping jacks and so on. I got up to starting at 14 pushups which equals 105 pushups at one time! I can definitely tell I have gained upper body strength in just 1 week! Plank is easier, pushups are easier, side plank is easier (couldnt really do before), and sun salutations are easier. Woo hoo! Now if my muscle spasm will completely go away I can get back to creating some guns!
Went to the group strength training class at the gym and I never go at this time so I had no idea what to expect from the instructor. Can I just say that the workout wasn’t hard enough! It feels good in a way (better fitness!) but I wanted to work harder so I was doing all the “more challenging” versions and it still wasn’t a hard enough workout. I did burn 338 calories though. I had to come home and do more of a workout. I won’t be going back to that class at least not with that instructor.
…does happy dance…Im back in the 150s!!
I weighed myself this am on a whim and I am down 0.8lbs since yesterday. I had a 1lb loss yesterday for a total of 1.8 lbs this week. SO EXCITED! This proves I can do it without paying for an expensive trainer…so motivating! Here’s to momentum!
Off to Bikram yoga this morning to help loosen up this dang hip! And possibly getting in my run later but its supposed to be almost 100 degrees today. HOT!
The scale hasn’t budged much. But I got my first compliment yesterday at a BBQ. One of my friends who I tried to go to bikram with about a month and a half ago (and haven’t seen her since then) said I was looking thinner and like I was losing weight again. I was wearing skinny jeans that i haven’t worn because they were too tight. But when I wore then last night, no muffin top! Yay! Small incident but feels good. She also coupled that with a friendly “ugh hate you for that” because she feels like she can never lose weight. She always starts programs, gets a week or so into it and stops due to life getting in the way. I wish it wouldn’t happen because we could workout together!
